We use object pronouns to replace the name of a person or thing affected by an action. This helps to avoid repetition.
Tell Anna the truth → Tell her the truth.
Take the plates and glasses to the kitchen → Take them to the kitchen.
Object pronouns change depending on the personal pronoun they correspond to.
