Making comparisons

To make a comparison between adjectives and adverbs, we use plus, moins, aussi ... que (more than / less than / as [big] as).

SuperioritĂ© (+) → Julio est plus drĂŽle qu’Antonio ; Je fais du vĂ©lo plus souvent que toi. Julio is funnier (more funny) than Antonio; I cycle more often than you.
InfĂ©rioritĂ© (-) → Julio est moins drĂŽle qu’Antonio ; Je fais du vĂ©lo moins souvent que toi. Julio is less funny than Antonio; I cycle less often than you.
ÉgalitĂ© (=)→ Julio est aussi drĂŽle qu’Antonio ; Je fais du vĂ©lo aussi souvent que toi. Julio is as funny as Antonio; I cycle as often as you.

To make a comparison between nouns or verbs, we use plus, moins, autant (de) ... que (more than / less than / as much/many as).
‱ With nouns:

SupĂ©rioritĂ© (+) → J’ai plus d’amis que toi. I have more friends than you.
InfĂ©rioritĂ© (-) → J’ai moins d’amis que toi. I have fewer friends than you.
ÉgalitĂ© (=) → J’ai autant d’amis que toi. I have as many friends as you.

‱ With verbs:

SupĂ©rioritĂ© (+) → Je travaille plus que toi. I work more than you.
InfĂ©rioritĂ© (-) → Je travaille moins que toi. I work less than you.
ÉgalitĂ© (=) → Je travaille autant que toi. I work as much as you.
