Don’t confuse canal with channel. Only the latter can be changed with a remote control.

Canal water is said to have a distinct perfume, called Canal n°5.

Übersetzung Die Franzosen begannen mit der Konstruktion des Panamakanals, aber er wurde erst nach dem Eingreifen der USA fertiggestellt. Manche Dinge sind eben immer gleich ;).

Ein anderer Kanal ist der Suez Geburtskanal, durch den man bei seiner Geburt schwimmt.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag, Panamakanal, oder muss man sagen: „Merry Isthmus!“ (Frohen Isthmus).
