Would rather

I would rather (我喜欢，我更愿意)用作情态助动词:
I would rather (或I'd rather) stay with you. 我宁愿和你待在一起。
What would you rather do instead? 你更愿意做什么？
She'd rather not see me. 她不想见到我。
Wouldn't you rather stay on the beach? 你不愿意留在海滩上吗？
• Would rather 后面经常跟一个虚拟式过去时(变位形式为简单过去时，除了'to be'):
I'd rather (that) you came another time. 我更愿意你换个时间来。
She would rather (that) he weren't so angry 她更喜欢他不是如此愤怒。
Bruno would rather (that) Icarus didn't stay so late at the office 布鲁诺宁愿伊卡洛斯别在办公室里待得太晚。
注意:动词to prefer与would rather是同义词，但是更正式，是非人称用法。
