Voici le témoignage de Roelof P.
Spanish is the only language that I speak frequently without a formal basis of adequate schooling. My native language is Dutch, which I use relatively seldom, but I use English, German, French and Spanish on a daily basis. I learned Spanish in Spain in my early twenties when I had an Andalusian girlfriend and improved my proficiency somewhat when I lived for a few years in Venezuela. I converse reasonably well, read Spanish without real difficulties and occasionally give presentations in Spanish on the topic of astronomy and astrophotography. Although we live in Germany, we spend a significant amount of time in Fuerteventura, where we have another residence, and that is why my German wife decided to learn Spanish. When she asked me occasionally for help I realised I had serious holes in my knowledge of Spanish grammar and I decided to improve. No need, just for fun. I have set myself the target to reach the highest level, therefore I do 5 lessons a week. I am over 70 years of age, still active in business, science (by training I am a physicist) and astronomy. But Gymglish is easy to squeeze in, and actually a lot of fun.
