Here is Yolanda P's success story.
My mother was a Spanish Basque from near Bilbao and, though she spoke Spanish to us when we were little, we were not brought up bilingual. I have always regretted this and decided to improve my Spanish by signing up for Gymglish. In addition, I have been researching the history of the evacuation of Basque children to Britain in 1937 and wanted to improve my understanding of materials in Spanish. The Hotel Borbollon lessons are helping me in both aims and I shall publish a book on the Basque children soon. I find the Gymglish approach both entertaining and very thorough in reinforcing any learnings. This is something I can appreciate as I have taught English as a foreign language to students in France. Also, I have surprised myself with how much better I am now at understanding news articles - and even poetry - in Spanish. I do struggle with verb tenses but following the course has definitely improved this - and I find myself consciously working out which tense is being used in Spanish texts. The course is also reminding me of the golden rule, 'read the question' as, on occasion, I've made elementary mistakes by not doing that! Overall, I am enjoying the lessons a lot - the friendly and encouraging tone and the sheer speed of corrections are both hugely impressive.
