Frantastique has been great fun. I first studied French in a U.S. public high school, with an inspiring and very generous teacher, Mlle. Madeleine Doerfler. But then I went to Venezuela, became fluent in Spanish and nearly forgot my French. I owe this to you, Mlle. Doerfler (alas, now departed), and to myself, for the added pleasure of being able to speak to my increasing number of French and Canadian friends.
