Here is Alyssa A's success story.
I've always wanted to learn French--ever since Mrs. Lynum gave me an F in her French 1 class in 8th grade. I guess I have an indomitable spirit! I've been studying French on my own on and off for 20 years. I don't have a ton of time. That's where I discovered Frantastique. I learn on my commute into New York City every day. I love the humor, and the "real" language that an everyday French speaker uses. I also love learning about the quirky French culture. The greatest improvement in the 7 years I've been using the app is the chance to converse with Victor Hugo through AI! Formulating ideas in a new language is really the hardest part of learning. This gives me a chance to fail without the embarrassment of speaking to a real person. And then I can review the chat afterward to see what Victor was actually saying and my attempts to respond. So thank you Gymglish team, for providing the most relevant and fun way to learn such a challenging and beautiful language! (And if there's any more room for improvement, I would love to have a "useful verbs in context" section with a listening comprehension component. I find that I can get a lot of the vocabulary when I hear people speak, but the verb tenses really prevent me from fully understanding the meaning of statements.)
