The structure of millions
From 1,000,000, numbers are written as words and follow this struture: unit/tens/hundreds + millón/millones + hundreds + tens/unit + mil + hundreds + tens/unit.
5.432.978 → cinco millones cuatrocientos treinta y dos mil novecientos setenta y ocho
(five million, four hundred and thirty-two thousand, nine hundred and seventy-eight)
20.300.000 → veinte millones trescientos mil
(twenty million, three hundred thousand)
700.600.025 → setecientos millones seiscientos mil veinticinco
(seven hundred million, six hundred thousand and twenty-five)
Note: we use millón (million) in the singular with the number uno (1). From dos (2), we always use the plural millones.
1.300.040 → un millón trescientos mil cuarenta
(one million three hundred thousand and forty)
2.300.040 → dos millones trescientos mil cuarenta
(two million three hundred thousand and forty)
