Adjective agreement with more than one noun
Reminder: adjectives agree in gender and number with the noun.
Un hotel céntrico.
A central hotel.
Una buena persona.
A good person.
If there is more than one noun before an adjective:
- Two or more nouns of the same gender → adjective: same gender as the nouns, plural.
Un cocinero y un camarero simpáticos.
A nice cook and waiter.
Unas enchiladas y unas quesadillas mexicanas.
Some Mexican enchiladas and quesadillas.
- Mixture of masculine and feminine nouns → adjective: masculine and plural.
Un traje y una corbata blancos.
A white suite and tie.
Unos auriculares y una impresora inalámbricos.
A wireless headset and printer.
If the adjective goes before two or more nouns, it agrees with the nearest one.
Las queridas joyas y gatos de Betty.
Betty's beloved jewels and cats.
Los queridos gatos y joyas de Betty.
Betty's beloved cats and jewels.
