the Queensberry rules: a code of rules followed in boxing
"Queensberry rules" are a set of generally-accepted rules for English boxing. They were named after the Marquess of Queensberry, who publicly endorsed these rules in the 19th century. The Queensberry rules include the "10 seconds" rule and other basic rules of fairness.
- "Brian (on intercom) : Well, I've changed into my boxing shorts just in case we need to settle this the old-fashioned way...with fisticuffs, you know, the Queensberry rules."
