Verbs ending in -oudre with past participles ending in -u

The verbs moudre (to grind), coudre (to sew), and résoudre (to resolve) have past participles that end in -u. To create them, take the root of the NOUS form in the present tense and add -U. Examples: résoudre (to resolve) → Nous résolvons (we resolve)→ résolu (resolved); coudre (to sew) → nous cousons (we sew)→ cousu (sewn). They are conjugated in the passé composé in the following way :
